Every year, the Wisconsin Association of Artists and Craftspeople (WAAC) has a month long gallery show at the UW Hospital in Madison. It’s a great venue to display artwork and to give back, as every piece sold earns the gallery a 20% commission. This money helps to keep the gallery running and allows local artists a place to show their work.
Highlights: The event features local artists and artisans showcasing handmade creations, including pottery, jewelry, and paintings, along with live music and local food.I participated in this event last year, and it was so much fun! There were many wonderful artists, great food, and music.
The purpose of the Gallery is twofold: to celebrate through the visual arts Wisconsin’s natural heritage and the human connection to the land, and to showcase the creativity and talent of artists who draw their inspiration from nature. The Madison Watercolor Society has been accepted to participate in this event, which is a huge honor.
